Have you ever stood on hallowed ground… a place that just feels holy? I don’t mean in the traditionally biblical sense–I’m not just talking about places where you should feel the divine. This isn’t about the shoulds. I’m not talking about feelings of morality, or the “be quiet, it’s church!’ kind of emotion. I’m talking about a sort of energy that buoys you, that makes you feel as if you’re being held up by something even when there appears to be nothing there.

Although it’s already been two weeks
since RT, I thought I’d share my adventures anyway and contrary to popular belief (my own) I was not the dazed blonde hiding in the corner!
I have to admit, I was extremely anxious going into this event. I’m incredibly shy in social situations and overwhelm easily. However, thanks to my very good friends, Lila Dubois and Lara Santiago, I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting into and ended up being a lot more involved in the convention then I had intended to be. The best part is, I not only survived it, I had a wonderful time.

Fashionable Underwear for the Hero’s first night
Okay Guys. This is the night. Your sweetheart has been softened up with chocolates, roses and diamond necklaces. You’ve spent three weeks taking her to the most exclusive restaurants in town and even spent sixteen tedious hours trailing behind her as she poked her nose into every possible fashion shop in town. And then watching as she tried on over half the stuff they offer. So tonight, is the night you get to do it.

It’s release day for me! 10 Days in Paradise is now available from Samhain Publishing. It’s a story about the electric, almost painful attraction between two very different people from two very different worlds.
Ahh…summer is almost here. Great weather. Kids out of school. For us, it means lots of drives to the beach and playing with open hoses out on the street. I love summer–always have. Freedom, warmth, fun. It’s a little slice of paradise.

AKA: the good old comfort read.
comfort reads: those books you can read over and over again, especially in times of personal distress, that just make you feel like humanity is not a lost cause
Most of the people who read this blog have probably already heard that my husband (aka Army Guy) was shot answering a call (he’s a cop) three weeks ago. He’s doing well, but I won’t lie and say it’s been all smooth sailing and everyone’s just hunky dory. That wouldn’t be fair or right to any of us. The thing I find interesting now that things are settling down though is that we’re all readers (of course), including our good friends and family (of course), and we all seem to be turning to books to cope. My library is being raided left and right.

Oh, sure mysteries are fine and good, but I also love stories that hold no secrets for the reader. With some good, solid category romances, you know what you want and you get what you paid for…..and here’s one that’s free. Sure it’s promoted every blessed spot on the internet. Allow me to provide another set of links to the timeless love story of Nico and Molly.
Chapter one (tumperkin)
Chapter two (carolyn jean)
Chapter three (kate)
Chapter four (carrie). .
There will be more to come. And just like Molly, you know–despite your consternation at your nipples hardening–you yearn for it.

As I get older, I find I’m writing less and enjoying it more. What’s up with that?
My first published work was a three volume fantasy trilogy. Yes, three volumes. The very thought now makes me shudder. I remember at the time that my publisher asked several writers to produce short stories for the Web site to draw in readers and I was aghast. I didn’t even know where to start with a short story. It was like being stuffed into a closet.

By the time you read this, I’ll be at the Romantic Times Book Lover’s Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It’s my first RT convention, but I’ve heard it’s a ton of fun. Readers come from all over to meet authors and eat and drink and talk romance - personally, my favorite subject. Maybe I’ll come back with some fun bits of information to share here.
There are workshops for writers and readers. There are parties and costumes and cover models  And booksignings. Tomorrow they are holding their first Ebook Expo, where e-pubs and small press and their writers can promote the e-book industry and what we have available and what we all can look forward to in the future. I’ll be there
